Vegan & Vegetarian Nutrition

At David Allen Nutrition, we understand the different food preferences or restrictions people may have. We aim to accommodate those preferences as we acknowledge that a plant-based lifestyle can easily be a healthy-balanced diet. We have numerous clients who are vegans and vegetarians and they too, can benefit tremendously from our program.

Pre & Post Natal Care

Health care before, during, and after pregnancy is essential for proper infant development. Diet and health from before pregnancy to the first five years of life has an enormous impact on a child's health during adulthood. We, at David Allen Nutrition recognize the importance of pre and postnatal care and the effect it can have on future infant and adult development. Great nutrition before and after pregnancy can especially prevent traumatizing birth defects and health issues like Spina Bifida, Preeclampsia, Neurotoxicity, Cleft Palates, and Rickets.

Pre & Post Menopause

Menopause

Menopause is a natural process that causes radical psychological changes to every woman. Menopause is defined as the absence of menstruation for 12 months, which typically occurs around the age of 51. However, menopause can also occur naturally between a woman’s late thirties all the way to her late fifties, or anytime a woman’s uterus and ovaries are surgically removed.

Anxiety/Stress Mangement

An estimated 20 million Americans are affected by stress, depression and anxiety every year. Stress is a normal physiological response to situations the body perceives as dangerous. Leading a stressful life without allowing the body to properly recover, can cause severe mental and physical health risks.

In addition, stress can cause and/or aggravate diabetes, ulcers, hypertension, strokes, heart attacks, back and neck pain, and is known to exacerbate various cancers. Mentally, stress can alter the ability to focus, concentrate, sleep, and function to full capacity.

Gastrointestinal Disorders

Blood Pressure

In the United States, approximately one in three adults suffer from high-blood pressure. Since hypertension is not associated with any symptoms, nearly one-third of people suffering from elevated blood pressure do not even acknowledge that they have it. Elevated blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure, or kidney failure, thus the term, "silent killer." The following are several factors that may contribute to high blood pressure:

Cholesterol

Cholesterol is an essential component for maintaining physiological health. Although cholesterol can be acquired from food, the majority of the cholesterol circulating throughout the body is produced by the liver. When an excess of cholesterol builds up the relative risk for heart attack and stroke increases.

Diabetes/Blood Sugar

23.6 million children and adults in the United States have Diabetes; while almost one quarter of this subgroup are unaware they even have the disease. There are two types of diabetes. Type l Diabetes is a largely unavoidable condition in which the pancreas cannot produce any insulin.

Thyroid Dysfunction
